Ice Bocce 2019!
Saturday, Feb. 2nd

FYI — here are the 2018 rules information and registration:

ICE BOCCE RULES #1     ICE BOCCE RULES #2

Always the first Saturday in February, the annual Ice Bocce Tournament features hot competition on the cold, cold ice of Girl Lake. People come from all across the state to take part in this fun winter-time event. Held in front of Patrick’s, the scene is full of funny costumes, competitive Bocce games, and good times — close enough for the warmth, good food and drinks right inside Patrick’s.

Teams consist of 4 people and must be co-ed (max of 2 Men–may have more than 2 Women). The competition is limited to 64 teams. Tournament coordinator Craig Johnson urges players to register early, as the roster fills up fast. Click here for the 2019 REGISTRATION FORM. Please mail registration forms, with payment, to:

Craig Johnson
PO Box 508
Longville, MN 56655

Cash prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams and a trophy is presented to the champions. There are also cash prizes for best team name and best dressed team.

Patrick’s is open for food and beverages and to offer a warm place for participants. Registration the day of the tournament begins at 9 AM, with competition beginning at 10 AM.

Be sure to check out the Longville Ice Bocce Tournament Facebook page for photos and updates.

“Global 6K for Water” with Empowered Fitness @ Empowered Fitness
May 4 @ 9:00 am

WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS AT EVENTS, SO PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP in the comment section below.

The “Global 6K for Water” is organized through World Vision, and we will be joining runners all over the world for this important cause.

Every entry provides clean water for one person for an entire generation. The distance will be 6K, which is the average distance a person, usually a woman or child, must walk to obtain water. This water, although necessary, is often contaminated and makes them sick. Once access to clean water is provided in an area, the mortality rate for children under 5 years old drops by half.

The run will start with REGISTRATION at Empowered Fitness at 9:00 a.m., and the Race begins at 10:00 a.m.  We will go down Hwy 5, and end back at Empowered Fitness.

Each entry includes a t-shirt, medal, and a race bib with the photo of a child who will receive water because of that entry.

JOIN THE EMPOWERED FITNESS TEAM ($5000 Goal / Adult $50 Donation – Children $25) – Registration is available now at the following link:  TEAM WORLD VISION
