Ice Fishing in Minnesota

Don't despair! The fish still bite in the winter. In fact many local residents only fish the winter months. Be safe and check with the Minnesota DNR for local ice conditions before venturing out.

While many of our 'Up north' resorts close up their cabins for the winter months, several do remain open year round. Snowmobiling, skiing and ice fishing attract many visitors to the Northland during the snowy months.

Check winter resorts to get information about local ice conditions and a place to stay while pursuing your favorite winter pastime. Most winter accommodations include fireplaces. Local guides can help to place you and your fish house right over the fish.
