Come to
Longville and enjoy the parade, food and fun all day Monday July
4th, right downtown. Click here for the

There
will be a food court featuring many different food vendors in
the city parking lot across from the city docks. There will also
be food on Main Street, where the Chamber will be selling Mary
Etta Pies, hot dogs and pop. Other foods available will include
Worky’s Cotton Candy, cheese curds from Frosty’s and snow cones,
sponsored by Ron’s Old Fashioned Hardware.
Staging
for the parade will begin at 10 a.m. in the Salem Lutheran
Church parking lot. The parade begins at 11 a.m.
Kids’ races will begin at about 12:30 p.m.
west of the Longville Bait Shop. At 1 p.m., turtle race
registration, games and contests will begin, followed by the
actual turtle races at 2 p.m.
At dusk, Longville’s spectacular fireworks display will take
place over Girl Lake.

The Most Patriotic Unit
Woodland Insurance & VFW Post 772
This unit featured the flag raising on Iwo Jima. Artist, Tom
Kutschied painted the background of the American ships
approaching the Island.
Most Humorous Unit
The One Stop
This unit depicted a typical situation where a dog is being
washed in the One Stop’s new Pet Wash.
Most Original Unit
Anchorage Inn on Lake Inguadona
This unit depicted a pirate ship with the captain and his
wenches.
Judges Favorite Unit
Tossed & Found Boutique
This unit featured the Grand Dames of the Tossed and Found
Boutique. Each of the Dames are in a simulated airplane to
encourage everyone to support their local thrift store and food
shelf. Each of the planes were constructed by Mike Connelly and
helpers.
Judges Favorite Honorable Mention
Bruno, The Town Dog
For years, Bruno has been entertaining guests and residents of
Longville as he scampers around town. Owned by the LaVallee
family, the dog dutifully
goes home at night.
Parade Director’s Favorite
Cass County Sheriff’s Posse
The Posse is made of volunteers from throughout Cass and
Itasca Counties.
They are a group of dedicated volunteers who serve the
citizens of Cass County in areas of search and rescue and
security for special events.
