The 2010 4th of July activities will be held on Sunday, July 4 in downtown Longville. All of the major activities have been scheduled to accommodate church services.  The list of activities is currently tentative. The Longville Chamber will finalize the list and location of activities by June 1.

There are many activities that are known at this time. First, the City of Longville will conduct a beer garden in the Docksider Bar parking lot beginning at 10 a.m. At about the same time, Birdies, located west of downtown will open for Water Wars and Mini Golf. At 11 a.m. the Chamber will sponsor inflatable games next to the Post Office. Beginning at 11:30 a.m. many of the food vendors will begin serving.

There will be a food court in the city parking lot across from the city docks.  The food court will have many different food vendors. However, some foods will be served at other locations. On Main Street, the Chamber will begin selling Mary Etta Pies. The Chamber will also begin selling hot dogs and pop near Lori’s Luvs.  Redbird Café will begin selling cotton candy in front of the restaurant. Cheese curds will be served in front of Frosty’s and the Longville Lions will hold their pig roast in the school parking lot.

Staging for the parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Salem Lutheran Church parking lot. The parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will proceed from the Salem Lutheran Parking Lot down Cass County 5 to main street concluding in front of the One Stop on State Highway 84.

Kids races will begin after the parade ends on or about 1:30 p.m. west of the Longville Bait Shop. At about 1:45 p.m., turtle race registration will begin on Main Street. While all of the games and contests will begin soon after, the actual turtle races will begin at about 2:30 p.m.

At about dusk, Longville’s spectacular Fireworks will begin. They are displayed over Girl Lake out in front of Patrick’s Fine Dining.
