Always the first Saturday in February, the annual Ice Bocce Tournament features hot competition on the cold, cold ice of Girl Lake. People come from all across the state to take part in this fun winter-time event. Held in front of Patrick’s, the scene is full of funny costumes, competitive Bocce games, and good times — close enough for the warmth, good food and drinks right inside Patrick’s.
Teams consist of 4 people and must be co-ed (max of 2 Men–may have more than 2 Women). The competition is limited to 64 teams. Cash prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams and a trophy is presented to the champions. There are also cash prizes for best team name and best dressed team.
Patrick’s is open for food and beverages and to offer a warm place for participants. Registration the day of the tournament begins at 9 AM, with competition beginning at 10 AM.

Chili cook-off begins at 12:00 p.m. at the Docksider in Longville
Entry fee – $5
Tasting fee – $5
Cash Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

Winter
Join us the Saturday before Easter at Common Grounds in Longville for a free Easter Egg hunt for the youngsters. Bring your camera for photos with the Easter Bunny! This free Easter celebration is sponsored by the Longville Area Lakes Chamber of Commerce and the Longville Lions Club.
10 a.m. — Registration begins.
10:30 a.m. — First Easter Egg Hunt begins.
Easter Egg hunts organized in three age groups — 4 years and younger, 5-7 years, and 8 to 11 years.
Every child gets Easter eggs and a gift, plus there are drawings for more gifts! Come celebrate Easter in Longville. It’s fun and it’s all free!
Proceeds benefit Faith in Action for Cass County.
An Evening in Tuscany Spaghetti Dinner for Faith in Action from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Union Church in Hackensack. A delizioso spaghetti with choices of sauce, salad, garlic rounds, beverage, and a specialty dessert served tableside. Live Music adds to a perfect evening for this spring getaway. We celebrate Independence Day on the actual 4th of July, so come and enjoy the parade, food, and all-day fun, right in downtown Longville.
2020 List of Events
9:30 a.m. – FREE Inflatables for the kids.
10:00 a.m. – The Food Court opens with lots of goodies including food by the Longville Chamber, Bake Sale from Young-At-Heart Senior Club, and Walking Tacos by the Longville Lions.
10:00 a.m. – STAGING FOR PARADE will begin in the Salem Lutheran Church parking lot.
11:00 a.m. – PARADE begins, followed by kids’ races, games, contests and prizes for all ages.
DUSK – Longville’s spectacular FIREWORKS display will take place over Girl Lake.
