It was an “exotic” afternoon in Longville July 19th, as 355 turtle racers gathered in the middle of downtown’s Main Street. After 349 racers had competed in 23 heats, Grand Champion honors went to Gabby Angwenyi, age 16, of Blaine, Minnesota. The Grand Slowpoke title went to Ahmed Umer, age 14, of Bloomington, Minnesota.

The Chamber Resort Race, which had another six contestants, was won by Hamilton Clausen, age 3, of Ellendale Minnesota. He represented Woman Lake Lodge.
